Artist's Comments

This piece was inspired by the beautiful jewelry work of Brooke Stone specifically, this piece The jewelry is done with fire as the background to the wolf, but I just thought that smoke would lend itself very well to it and give it sort of an ethereal feel. Because it's smoke and not fire, and I wanted it to be more of a spirit, I chose cooler lighter colors to complement that.

i really love the feel of this. I've just started painting (none of my pics are good enough to go on DA yet), any tips on how to get that ethereal look that youve captured so well?

Nice work. I'm not a painter. But this is really nice. I like it.

wow I am so in awe of this piece! It is simply gorgeous, I love how the spirit around the wolf (of the wolf) resembles it's body in mid trot. Or at least it does to me.

Thank you! I'm sure your paintings are fine to put up. That's what dA's for... putting up your stuff, and if it needs improvement, you can use people's comments to get new points of view and tips on how to make it better! :)
When doing ethereal... Usually it's light "whispy" kinds of things. and unnatural colors. :)

Thanks
